I read somewhere that the most ideal age for children to learn to swim, is 5 years. At this age usually the kids can start playing outside without constant supervision of their parents. We were actually planning to sent Irdina to a swimming class since early this year, but due to some commitments and constraints that we had, we had to postpone it until this year school holiday.
So the BIG sista started her 1st swimming class last 2 weeks at Precint 16, Putrajaya together with one of my neighbour's daugther and both of them loved it and had been counting days ever seen for their next swimming class! It was a 1 hour class every Saturday, 11am -12 pm and in group lesson with a few instructors. I thought that she's gonna to freak out at first but apparently she had no problem at all to do whatever the coach asked her to do. After attending the first session, I could see that she could hold her breath under water for a little while and she could even float her body as well.Bravo Dear!! :) I'm not expecting her to know how to swim in 12 weeks when the class is over. I just wanted her to have the class to get used to the water and interact with some kids close to her age and have a good time. It would be nice also to know if in case that she fell in a pool at least she could swim to the edge and get herself out from there right? So here's a few photos during her 1st swimming lesson ;)
On her 1st session
The class actually offered for kids aged 7 years onwards but I told the coach let her try first one class and see how she response to their instructions. Apparently she took all the instruction pretty well ;)
She can float ;)
Si kenit nie pun nak join gak..tapi mandi tepi2 kolam jelah. Wait till you're 5 kay ;)
